Learning Units for this Module
MP3 Audio — [audio_mp3]
This learning units contains a set of MP3 audio samples for each rendering level. Since we do not know yet, which MP3 samplerates, bitrates, etc are supported on PDA und Phone, all the example movies here are made with Squeeze's MP3 Exporter and therefore may not run properly on PDA or Phone. --- Neither Dreamweaver nor Contribute provide nice GUIs for inserting videos, so we have to use "Insert => Media => Plugin" in Dreamweaver and select the audio file manually. Leave width and height at their defaults (32 pixels). Dreamweaver creates just a single "<embed>" tag with "src", "width" and "height" attributes... the exporter has to do the test (figure out the MIME-type, build "<object>" tag, etc).

Status: v.2004-06-21 — Final
Flash Movies — [flash]
This learning units contains a set of Flash Movies for each rendering level. Since we do not know yet, which versions of Flash are supported on PDA und Phone, all the example movies here are made with the same Flash version and therefore may not run properly on PDA or Phone.

Status: v.2004-06-21 — Final
Images — [images]
This learning units contains two sets of images for each rendering level. The first set is a "nice" one with all the images in proper sizes, the second one is a not so nice one, where all the images are too large (to test how rendering handels oversized media items).

Status: v.2004-06-21 — Final
Java Applets — [java]
This learning units contains a set of MP3 audio samples for each rendering level. Since we do not know yet, which MP3 samplerates, bitrates, etc are supported on PDA und Phone, all the example movies here are made with Squeeze's MP3 Exporter and therefore may not run properly on PDA or Phone. --- All compiled Java classes and support files (images, audio, etc) an applet need, must be stuffed into a JAR archive. Source code must be included in a separate ZIP file, for example if the JAR archive filename is "example.jar", the ZIP file is called "example_src.zip".

Status: v.2004-06-21 — Final
MPEG-4 Videos — [video_mpeg4]
This learning units contains a set of MPEG-4 videos for each rendering level. Since we do not know yet, which MPEG-4 video formats are supported on PDA und Phone, all the example movies here are made with QuickTime's MPEG-4 Exporter and therefore may not run properly on PDA or Phone. --- Neither Dreamweaver nor Contribute provide nice GUIs for inserting videos, so we have to use "Insert => Media => Plugin" in Dreamweaver, select the video file and set width and height manually. Dreamweaver creates just a single "<embed>" tag with "src", "width" and "height" attributes... the exporter has to do the test (figure out the MIME-type, build "<object>" tag, etc).

Status: v.2004-06-21 — Final
WMV Videos — [video_wmv]
This learning units contains a set of WMV videos (Windows Media Format) for each rendering level. Since we do not know yet, which WMV formats are supported on PDA und Phone, all the example movies here are made with Squeeze's WMV Exporter and therefore may not run properly on PDA or Phone.
